A class-action lawsuit was recently filed against Taco Bell over the claim of “seasoned ground beef” in some of its menu items. Paging judge Cristina Pereyra!

The suit alleges that the Irvine-based chain tries to pass off  their Franken blend of mostly “water, isolated oat product, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodextrin, anti-dusting agent, yeast extract, modified corn starch and sodium phosphate,” as “seasoned ground beef.”

So hold on, Taco Bell isn’t ‘authentic’? No Moctezuma’s revenge, Sherlock!

The lawsuit also states that roughly 35% of the taco filling is solid, while 15% overall is protein. As to what the remaining percentage is made of, one can only imagine.

Now, if only desecrating an entire culture by bastardizing its culinary history and tradition was a crime, we’d jump right on board the class-action gravy (or is it Border Sauce®?) train.

Somewhere in heaven Clara Peller, the Wendy’s Where’s the Beef? lady just got moist.
